STARBUS

Coming soon

A repeatable CubeSat mission platform where the bus stays standard and the customer-specific part is the payload.

Platform range

One bus architecture, three payload envelopes

STARBUS is designed around a standard spacecraft bus and a variable payload bay. The offer scales from compact validation missions to larger hosted payload missions without rebuilding the mission architecture each time.

Small payload validation

STARBUS 1U

Education, proof-of-concept payloads, simple sensors, and rapid in-orbit demonstrations.

Envelope
1U CubeSat envelope
Mass
Target payload mass: up to 0.5 kg
Power
Target payload power: 1-3 W average
Data
Low-rate payload data and housekeeping
Default nanosatellite platform

STARBUS 3U

Most hosted payloads, technology demonstrations, research missions, and early commercial missions.

Envelope
3U CubeSat envelope
Mass
Target payload mass: up to 2 kg
Power
Target payload power: 5-15 W average
Data
Standard payload data path with S-band option
Higher-capability hosted payload platform

STARBUS 6U

Larger instruments, higher-data payloads, imaging, communications payloads, and more capable demos.

Envelope
6U CubeSat envelope
Mass
Target payload mass: up to 5 kg
Power
Target payload power: 15-40 W average
Data
Higher-rate payload data with S-band or X-band path
Architecture

Standard bus, variable payload

The STARBUS product idea is simple: keep the spacecraft bus repeatable and scale the payload envelope around the mission.
